Presenting Texas's Transportation History for Over 50 Years
San Antonio Garden Railroad Engineers (SAGRES) operates this exhibit consisting of a multiple loop traditional G-Scale, an elevated loop, trolley line and live steam. At over 1300 ft in total track length, it is something to behold. Thomas The Tank Engine makes a regular appearance to the delight of the kids. And don’t forget a picture in the Speeder Car! Please note the garden is outdoors and operating hours can be affected.
This layout has seen many faces over the years, the most recent came about in January 2020. A new layout is in operation and has interactive accessories that the whole family will enjoy! Being the "Toy" scale, many of the items on the layout are a representation of real life operations seen over the years on real railroads.
This huge indoor layout is maintained by Alamo Model Railroad Engineers (AMRE). It spans all 100 ft. of the building that houses this display, which can make for some long trains. Scenes depicting different rail operations across the country from Sea Port and Steel to the home base of railroads in the rail-yards. AMRE is in operation during TTM’s business hours.
SANTRAK and their modular model railroad. These modules are interchangeable and can depict anything from dinosaurs and aliens to simple everyday scenes where railroads were present and even TTM itself. For more info please visit SANTRAK’s Website.
This modular model railroad is one of the smallest scales. This layout will take you through San Antonio and the Hill Country with scenes familiar to all Texans. A occasional addition to this layout is the operation of the smallest model train scale, "T", where the track is only 3mm wide.
TTM’S PRIVATE RAIL LINE BUILT AND MAINTAINED BY VOLUNTEERS.
